One of the rare evidence of the civil Medieval construction industry, the tower dates back to the XIV century. It was located in the centre of a wide fortified complex (as proved by the traces of the drawbridge) owned by the powerful Sessi family of Reggio. Currently, it is subjected to restoration work.
