Vi si trovava un ospedale nominato la prima volta in una carta dell'Archivio Capitolare di Reggio dell'anno 882. Venne beneficiato dal Vescovo Pietro per compensarlo dei danni subiti dagli Ungari nell'889. Un altro atto del 1200 indica la località dell'ospedale destinato a pellegrini ed infermi "extra portam Sancti Stephani" (1). E' probabile possa ancora riferirsi all'ospedale "Plebis" citato nel libro dei fuochi del 1315 (2). L'osteria è ricordata fin dal 1471 (3). Nel fabbricato ancora esistente è visibile frontalmente un portico a cinque luci tamponate.
There was a hospital named the first time in a map of the Reggio Chapter Archives of the year 882. It was used by Bishop Peter to compensate him for the damage suffered by the Hungarians in 889.
