Headquarter Stabile della Fondazione Nazionale Danza - Aterballetto.
With a central nave installation (65 meters long, 16 meters wide, high almost 13 meters) and two side wings, the Fonderia recalls a Roman cathedral.
The recovered overall surface is about 3000 square meters (2140 in the ground floor, 750 in the first floor and 90 in the second one): 2150 meters are occupied by the National Foundation of Dance, 600 by the Piazza Coperta and 230 by public equipments. In order to destine part of the structure to public uses and expositive events, in addition to the 2200 meters existing, further 800 square meters were obtained; it was indeed integrated a new floor below the side wings and the central nave was divided in two, thanks to a big glass wall that does not affect the overall spatial perception: on one side the Piazza coperta, on the other the rehearsal studio, visible to anyone in any moment.
The building includes, on the ground floor, the big practice room of the company (34 meters x 16, with a wooden floor of 20x16 meters, that has the size of a stage of a big theater) equipped with scenery lights, direction cabin and a platform with 70 seats, two further smaller practice rooms for work goups and training course (one of them is managed and available for the Municipality), changing rooms, service spaces and a small gym. On the first floor, in the two side wings, are located the administrative offices, the tailor's shop and the costumes deposit; in the tower, that used to host the factory's crucibles, the staircase, the glass lift and the cold and air machines were installed. A boardwalk links the two side wing through a central nave; in the middle of the nave, an iron container two meters high hosts the direction cabin and the electric panels. All the spaces, except the service's ones, have summer cooling, while the rehearsal roooms and the offices also have air conditioning through drains in sight.
