On October 31, 1028, the Bishop of Reggio Teuzone ceded to Giovanni, deacon of Montecchio, some land located in the bottom "Montiglio" in places called Aiola and Pecorile (1). Aiola is also to be referred to that "Adiola" mentioned in a document of the Archives of the Cathedral of Reggio in 1029 in which Stefano del fu Domenico del "Monticlo" gives to that church and to Bishop Teuzone his goods in different places (2). In the locality of Aiola there were two dairies; the oldest, eighteenth-century octogonal plant, was faithfully rebuilt next to the new parish church while on the spot remains the dairy attached to the rural complex owned by the Farini family. The dairy has been inactive and unused for about 20 years but has not undergone transformations. It has a typical quadrangular structure with archivolt lights and a four-pitched roof with a vertex fireplace.
